Implementation Progress

A major focus of the Fostering Connections Resource Center is to track and monitor state-by-state progress on implementation.  Beginning in February 2010, the Fostering Connections Resource Center will track implementation progress for every state. Please check back for the latest information and updates. Individuals who sign up for listserv updates will receive notices when new information is added to the Resource Center.

An important existing resource on the status of implementation is provided by a collaborating partner to the Resource Center.  In 2009, the American Public Human Services Association (APHSA) and its affiliate the National Association of Public Child Welfare Administrators (NAPCWA) are conducting individual interviews with its members from all 50 states and the District of Columbia.  These interviews focus on states' efforts to implement the Fostering Connections to Success and Increasing Adoptions Act of 2008 (P.L. 110-351) and seek to identify what implementation activities states are currently undertaking, what options they plan to take, and how they are moving forward with the new mandated provisions.   Summaries of these interviews can be found here.
